As a student guide-interpreter, you will:work at a beautiful site;greet visitors who are joining guided tours;welcome guests at official events in the presence of the governor general (occasionally);offer tours of the residence; andshare information and answer questions about the responsibilities of the governor general, and the history, art and architecture of the residence.Duration: Summer 202635 hours per week from early May to early September. There is a possibility of re-employment during the 2026-2027 academic year.What we are looking forAs a student guide-interpreter for the Summer 2026 season you need to meet the following criteria:be available to work 35 hours per week, from early May to early September 2026;be enrolled in a full-time university undergraduate program at an accredited academic institution for the winter 2026 academic session;plan on returning to full-time studies in the fall 2026 academic term; andhave excellent public-speaking skills in both English and French*;can explain a concept in front of a group and engage a variety of audiences;are service-oriented and flexible team players; andhave an interest in Canadian Parliamentary democracy and history.*Note: Candidates must be able to offer guided tours and answer complex questions in both official languages.
