Here is What's on Your Horizon Faculty/School: School of Public Safety Program/ Courses: Paralegal Diploma PLC450 - Small Claims Court - Practice and Procedure LXC312 - Corporate and Commercial Law II Campus: Seneca@York We welcome applications for part-time teaching opportunities. Course assignments are based on scheduling and instructional needs. Contract faculty typically teach up to 6 hours per week, with classes scheduled Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm. To help us align your application with the right opportunity, please include your availability when applying. Responsible for providing academic leadership in the classroom and ensuring an effective and compelling learning environment for students. You will: Ensure student awareness of course objectives, approach, and evaluation techniques. Carry out regularly scheduled instruction, which may include tutoring and academic counselling of students. Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, work experience and field trips. Evaluate student progress/achievement and assume responsibility for the overall assessment of the student's work within assigned courses. What you bring to Seneca Education:Paralegal diploma or a law degree Experience:1 year of post-secondary teaching experience PLC450 (Small Claims Court - Practice and Procedure):- Active Law Society of Ontario (LSO) license in good standing- 3 years of related work experience in Small Claims Court LXC312 (Corporate and Commercial Law):- Experience in corporate and commercial law – ideally experience as a corporate/commercial lawyer. Skills Demonstrated knowledge of and experience teaching fundamentals of your area(s) of expertise. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with the Polytechnics’ diverse staff and student population is required, as is an understanding of and commitment to equity in education. Commitment to a team approach for problem-solving and conflict resolution.
