Electrical CAD/Revit Technician/Technologist Stantec Join our Buildings team in Ottawa, ON as a dynamic Electrical CAD/Revit Technician/Technologist. We collaborate with interdisciplinary engineers to design buildings and processes that are safe, high-performance, and sustainable. This role offers growing responsibilities across a range of projects. Responsibilities Produce electrical design and drawings in AutoCAD and Revit. Organize and maintain a design and CAD digital file database for each project. Carry out assignments on project design teams. Facilitate and ensure the quality of design, drawings, and graphic work produced by the team; and ensure project work plan schedules and budgets are met. Receive training to advance skills in detailed design. Assist and mentor new drafters. Qualifications Graduate of an Architectural Technology diploma program from a recognized post-secondary institution. Certificate or diploma in an engineering technician or technology program (two‑ or three‑year). Experience as a technologist in an architectural firm with a focus on industrial, commercial, and institutional projects. 2 years of experience preferred (entry‑level considered). Experience in the design, drafting, and construction administration for electrical systems is an asset. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with recent versions of AutoCAD. Practical experience with Building Information Modeling (Revit) and 3D modeling; preference given. Experience in drafting single line diagrams, power distribution systems, UPS, cable trays, lighting, grounding, equipment layouts, Fire Alarm, motor schematics, wiring diagrams, control panels, low voltage switchgear, MCCs, and area classification. Experience using Canadian Building Codes and specialty regulations is an asset. Working knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and electrical design principles. Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills; self‑motivated and team‑player. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Organized to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate flexibility. Access to a personal vehicle to visit sites may be required.
