Electrical CAD/Revit Technician/Technologist Join Stantec’s Buildings team in Ottawa, ON. We are looking for a dynamic Electrical CAD/Revit Technician/Technologist to support our integrated design practice. The role reports to the Electrical Team Leader and involves a wide range of electrical design and drafting responsibilities across industrial, commercial, and institutional projects. Responsibilities Produce electrical design drawings in AutoCAD and Revit. Organize and maintain the project CAD file database. Work with project design teams to meet design, schedule, and budget goals. Ensure the quality of drawings and graphic work across the team. Participate in training to advance detailed design skills. Assist and mentor new drafters. Qualifications Graduate of an Architectural Technology diploma program from a recognized post‑secondary institution. Certificate or diploma in an engineering technician or technology program (2‑3 years). Experience as a technologist in an architectural firm focusing on industrial, commercial, and institutional projects. 2 years of experience preferred; entry level considered. Experience in design, drafting, and construction administration for electrical systems is an asset. Strong knowledge of recent versions of AutoCAD. Practical experience with Building Information Modeling (Revit) and 3D modeling is an asset. Experience drafting single‑line diagrams, power distribution systems, UPS, cable trays, lighting, grounding, equipment layouts, fire alarm, motor schematics, wiring diagrams, control panels, low‑voltage switchgear, MCCs, and area classification. Knowledge of Canadian building codes and, as a bonus, specialty regulations. Working knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and electrical design principles. Effective communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, and written). Team player, self‑motivated, eager to learn. Well organized to prioritize multiple tasks and flexible with work assignments.
