Together, we’ll push boundaries and go above what’s expected of us to meet the challenges of tomorrow and engineer a better world We are seeking a Senior CAD Designer / Technologist to develop multidisciplinary municipal functional, preliminary, and detailed design plans for roadways, intersection improvements, and active transportation facilities. The role is based in either the London or Kitchener office. Primary Responsibilities Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design drawings and assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for municipal infrastructure projects, including regional arterial roads, collector roads, local roads, and bike trails. Integrate multidisciplinary input into the design process from specialists in traffic engineering, transportation safety, structural engineering, stormwater management, water/wastewater process, geotechnical engineering, and environmental/ecology. Coordinate with utility stakeholders and regulatory agencies; prepare materials for permit application packages to secure approvals. Ensure that project needs are met in a timely and effective manner. Work under the direction of Senior Staff and collaborate with CADD staff within the group. Review shop drawings and contractor submittals for compliance with construction documents. Qualifications Civil Technician or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with 7–10 continuous years of relevant experience, preferably from a consulting engineering office environment in Ontario. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, InRoads or OpenRoads and strong computer software skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam. Familiarity with TAC standards, OPS, OTM, and various municipal & regional design and drafting standards (City of London, City of Kitchener, Region of Waterloo). Well‑developed written communication skills with the ability to integrate illustrations and diagrams into written materials to communicate technical information to a variety of audiences. Organized, motivated team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects. Why choose CIMA+?
