We’re looking for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about bringing bold ideas to life through technology.Requirements:1+ years of previous experience in an accounting role and sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesPost-secondary education in accounting / business programProficient in using standard office software with previous experience using accounting software QuickBooks and advanced skill in Microsoft ExcelAnalytical capabilities with the ability to effectively report on financial data and identify key insightsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to proactively engage with business stakeholdersAn autonomous learner who can react to change with agility and brings an entrepreneurial mindset which translates into new ideas and thought processesA drive to take ownership of everything you do from start to finish, demonstrating proactivity in completing deliverables and communicating status updates to leadershipExceptional organization and time management skills with a passion for attention to detail that ensures everything you do is of the highest qualityPrepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements to assist in strategic planning.Key Accountabilities:Maintain accurate financial records using manual and computerized bookkeeping systemsPerform full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable and accounts receivableHandle and manage accounts payable: enter vendor invoices, process payments, and maintain vendor relationshipsReconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts regularlyMaintain general ledgers and assist in the preparation of financial statementsPrepare trial balances and ensure completeness and accuracy of recordsMonitor, track, and analyze company expensesAssist with month-end and year-end close activities, including internal and external audit supportPrepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysesAssist with the preparation of funding applications and claims for government programs such as IRAP and SR&EDMaintain and improve internal controls over financial transactions and reportingPrepare and monitor cash flow forecasts and manage liquiditySupport cross-functional teams with financial insights and reportingDevelop and maintain tools, templates, and dashboards for financial analysisAssist in reviewing vendor invoices and monitoring against budgetsJob DetailsLocation: Waterloo, OntarioWork Environment: In-person (on-site at our Waterloo facility)Part-time: 15–20 hours per weekPotential for the position to transition to full-time based on performance and company needs #J-18808-Ljbffr
