From 26 offices in 15 countries, with projects in over 80 locations worldwide, we create sustainable outcomes for our people, clients and communities.Our team in Eastern Canada is growing; we are currently recruiting for an Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our Mining team in the Burlington office.About the roleCollaborate with the engineering and design team from FEED through scoping and Detailed Engineering to Construction support.Develop capital cost estimates for feasibility study and detail engineering proposals.Monitor costs associated with the selection, cost and installation of Instrumentation and Control System equipment.Design instrumentation-related engineering deliverables, i.e., instrument indexes, installation details, location drawings, datasheets, wiring drawings, loop drawings, P&ID's, material requisitions, evaluation of alternatives and selection of instruments, calculations (control valve, flow elements, pressure safety valves), document control logs, bill of materials and instrument change approvals, construction work package.Design controls-related engineering deliverables, i.e., logic drawings, termination/ wiring diagrams, block diagrams, panel layouts, control system topology/ control system architecture, control narrative, and cable schedule.Participates in HAZOP reviews and in other technical, constructability and quality reviews.About youBachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation and Instrumentation or related field.2 - 8 years of progressive experience as an instrumentation and control engineer in heavy industry is required.Registered with P.E.O. as a P.Eng or eligible/planning to register with P.E.O.Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Strong analytical, communication (oral and written) and troubleshooting skills.Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary project team, including process, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation and CAD support.Knowledge of codes, standards, regulations, and practices.Familiarity with hardware requirements of PLC, SCADA and DCS control systemsKnowledge of Industrial IT, including Ethernet networking systems is an asset.Experience with communication protocols such as DNP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, IEC 61850 is an asset.Previous experience in mining projects, as well as experience in Smart ® Instrumentation, Smart ® P & ID would be an advantage.Why Ausenco?We support individual growth and aim to allow you to work in a way that plays to your strengths.
