LAW: Estey Chair in Business Law The Estey Chair in Business Law was established in 2014 through the generosity of the Estey Family and support of alumni and friends of the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan. It honours late Supreme Court Justice Willard “Bud” Estey, a proud alumnus. Past holders include Rod Wood, Cally Jordan, Anna Lund, Virginia Torrie. Current holder is Michael Milani, serving a second term. We invite applications from scholars and practitioners in business law—including domestic and international regulation, dispute resolution, governance, transactions, finance, securities, competition, taxation, insolvency, and related areas. Candidates must be either: An academic with a strong research and teaching record. A senior legal professional with a national or international reputation. The Chair engages faculty, students, and the local legal community to promote business law. In the academic track, the Chair resides at the College, pursues research, teaches one course or seminar, delivers a public lecture, and hosts a conference or workshop. In the professional track, the Chair engages in outreach to the bar, judiciary, and broader community. Administrative and financial support is provided. Term is normally one year, but shorter terms are considered for professionals. The Chair is likely appointed at Associate or Full Professor level. Salary: $135,535–157,543 for an Associate Professor and $157,543–183,219 for a Professor, commensurate with experience. Salary range is based on Article 18.2.6.12 of the 2023‑2027 USFA Collective Agreement (https://careers.usask.ca/agreements/usfa/usfa-table-of-contents.php). Benefits include dental, health, vision, pension, life insurance, sick leave, travel insurance, death benefits, employee assistance, professional expense allowance, and flexible wellness program. The College seeks candidates for the 2026‑27 academic year, with a contemplated start date of July 1, 2026. Application review begins December 2025.
