Our office culture is fast-paced and collaborative, and we value smart, driven, and adaptable people who enjoy taking on new challenges in a start-up-style environment.The Role – ControllerReporting to the CFO, the Controller leads the finance function and is a key member of the executive leadership team. This role is responsible for financial strategy execution, oversight of financial operations, strong internal controls, and timely, accurate reporting to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.The Controller provides strategic insight to support growth, operational performance, compliance, and long-term value creation, while leading and developing the finance team with a focus on accuracy, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.ResponsibilitiesGovernance & Financial ReportingSupport Board reporting and analysis in partnership with the CFOLead monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidated reportingEnsure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and strong internal controlsDeliver meaningful financial insights and recommendations to leadershipStrategic & Operational SupportSupport strategic planning, budgeting, and forecastingAnalyze performance trends, cost drivers, and operational metricsEvaluate new initiatives, capital investments, and financial modelsFinance Leadership & OperationsLead the finance team, including direct oversight of the Assistant ControllerOversee accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, inventory, treasury, and cash flowSupport tax compliance including excise (B300), provincial, and federal filingsMonitor working capital and daily cash flow to support uninterrupted operationsSystems, Controls & Process ImprovementLead enhancements to financial systems, processes, and automationStrengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and governance frameworksDrive improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and visibilityStakeholder CollaborationPartner with cross-functional leaders across operations, supply chain, sales, and HRSupport external audit, banking, and regulatory relationships alongside the CFOQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA designation7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadershipStrong background in financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance under ASPE or similar frameworksAssetsMBA or advanced financial designationsExperience with NetSuite is a strong assetExperience in manufacturing, cannabis, or other regulated industriesERP implementation, optimization, or financial process automation experienceSkills & CompetenciesAdvanced proficiency with NetSuite, Excel, ERP environments, and reporting toolsStrong leadership and people-development capabilitiesAbility to translate financial data into actionable business insightStrategic, analytical thinker with sound judgmentStrong business acumen and cross-functional partnership skillsHighly organized with the ability to manage competing prioritiesHigh integrity and commitment to confidentiality and ethical financial stewardshipSkillsAnalyticalFinancial ReportingFinancial RiskIntegrityLeadershipMicrosoft ExcelNetSuiteStrategic Financial PlanningAbout Atlantic CultivationAtlantic Cultivation Ltd.
