Take the leap and make your mark at Plan Group The Project Cost Controller responsibilities focus on the budgetary control system for a Joint Venture Project through the preparation of cost reports, monitoring, analyzing, and demonstrating commitment to budget and forecast. The Project Cost Controller works with the Joint Venture Project team members to maintain accurate, updated information throughout the project lifecycle. This role would require you to be in office full time, with travel to the site. Responsibilities Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring accurate financial forecasting and reporting. Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain deviations from budgeted amounts, recommending corrective actions as needed. Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and compliance standards throughout the project lifecycle. Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project progress and success including Labor Performance. Prepare detailed status reports and executive summaries for JV Partners. Facilitate regular project review meetings, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making. Identify potential project risks and issues, developing strategies for mitigation and contingency planning. Collaborate with the JV Partners to implement risk management practices, ensuring proactive responses to challenges. Serve as a primary point of contact for project-related financial inquiries and reporting. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and transparency regarding project status and financial health. Analyze project management and financial processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains. Implement best practices for project control and reporting, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and readily accessible for audits and reviews. Progress Billing and Change Order Management. Project Cost Controller will report to the Project Controller. Qualifications Over 3 years of financial/data analysis experience on Infrastructure / Energy Project controlling within multiple Partners. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or an equivalent degree is required, CPA, MBA, or public accounting experience preferred. Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP will be a valuable asset. Strong working knowledge of accounting including: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Effective communication (both oral and written), organization, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to balance multiple tasks and responsibilities. High level of professionalism and standards. Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments. Financial or accounting experience in construction or engineering industry preferred. Knowledge of or familiarity with principal field business management systems: D 365, and Procore. English, and French (not mandatory).
