Cenovus Energy is currently recruiting for an Engineering Student to join our Mechanical/Process Engineering Team in the Operations Engineering Department.
We are looking for a candidate who has an eagerness to learn and thrives in a fast-paced, diverse working environment.

What you’ll do:- Supporting Mechanical and Process Engineers in the progress of their work.
- Completing small engineering work packages to issue to Project Engineering or contractors with the assistance of a senior engineer.
- Assisting with front end engineering work for projects.
- Identifying process problems &/or performance inefficiencies through the collection and analysis of plant operating data.
- Process modeling and monitoring of process and control systems.
- Assisting with de-bottlenecking and reliability studies and activities.
- Equipment evaluation and optimization.
- Identifying and recommending, and developing options for modifications to improve onstream time of the various units.
- Completing small engineering work packages to issue to Project Engineering or contractors with the assistance of a senior engineer.
- Assisting with front end engineering work for projects (scoping studies, design base memorandum, process hazard analysis, etc.).
Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).
Available to begin work in September 2024.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, high-performing, team environment.
Flexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritize.
Strong interpersonal skills, dependable and drive for results.
Education:Must be enrolled in a Process Engineering Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.
New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
Working Conditions:May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.
