(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check)Required for Professional RegistrationJob DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Under the general administrative direction of the Manager, this position provides community based Occupational Therapy services to referred clients; provides consultation for caregivers; and educates clients, caregivers, staff and the community on rehabilitation interventions.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceGraduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT). Minimum two (2) years' post graduate experience in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Community experience preferred.Skills And AbilitiesExcellent communication, speaking and organizational skills. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
