Our client a reputable Insurance company located in Toronto is looking to hire a CFO to add to their team. This is a hybrid working role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Management of financial and accounting processes: review and, if need be, recommendation for improvement, of the financial and accounting procedures and policies: revenue and expenses recognition, follow up and recognition of cash, balance sheet presentation; review of accounting, financial, cash management and reporting IT tools;
  • Ensure implementation of, and compliance with, proper spending rules within the frame of the wider group rules;
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, financial advisors, tax administration and other third parties related to finance and administration of the company
  • Planning annual financial business plans and yearly budget; recurring reforecast; monthly, quarterly and yearly consolidation of accounts; ad hoc analysis of the business development, profitability profile and cash management outcome of the subsidiaries
  • Review of the business plan, analysis of value and financial support to the various steps of the negotiation;
  • Supervision of financial due diligences;
  • Ability to manage / coordinate the non-financial aspects of administration: Legal and Risk and compliance

Qualifications:

  • MBA in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field, and/or CPA
  • 7+ years experience including audit/controllership, in Canada
  • M&A experience would be preferred
  • Insurance or Financial services industry experience preferred
  • Ability to handle pressure with a level head
  • Bilingual in French and English would be an asset
