If so, we want you on our team Reporting to the Vice President, Procurement, as the Category Manager lead the development, execution, and optimization of procurement strategies for key categories within a shared services procurement model. In close partnership with the Vice President, Procurement, you will define and implement category strategies, deliver effective sourcing solutions, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive consistency, cost efficiency, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all assigned categories. Join our Procurement team today in Edmonton, AB Essential Responsibilities: Partner with the Vice President, Procurement to develop and execute enterprise-wide category management strategies Lead category performance to deliver sustainable cost savings, improved supplier performance, and contract compliance Develop long-term strategies to optimize spend and maximize value through innovative and strategic sourcing approaches Design and implement category toolkits and supply chain analysis methodologies to consistently identify and deliver value Monitor market trends and supplier activity, sharing insights with operational teams to support category plans and best practices Collaborate with the strategic sourcing team to manage end-to-end sourcing activities, including supplier evaluation, selection, negotiation, and contract management Ensure sourcing activities align with category strategies and establish supplier performance frameworks to drive continuous improvement Provide strategic procurement guidance to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with enterprise and operational objectives Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, to ensure efficient and compliant procurement processes Lead, develop, and mentor the Category Management team while identifying and mitigating procurement-related risks to ensure supply continuity and resilience Qualifications: Minimum of 8 years’ experience in procurement, with a proven track record leading category management and sourcing in complex environments Professional procurement certifications (e.g., SCMP, CPSM, CIPS) are considered an asset Demonstrated experience implementing category management approaches for goods and services Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, category management, supply chain principles, and change management Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and apply insights to decision-making Solid understanding of strategic analysis tools and their application in driving category strategies and value-based outcomes Proven ability to conduct market analysis and leverage findings to optimize sourcing decisions Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams In-depth understanding of contract law and enterprise-wide contract management principles Working conditions: In office position with some flexibility of working remotely 1 day per week Occasional travel to various office locations required Additional Information Ledcor Group of Companies is one of North America’s most diversified construction companies.
