The Technical Training Manager – Marine will be responsible for developing and implementing training strategies that ensure each technician and team member possesses the necessary skills to uphold the Yamaha brand name.Key Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop, coordinate, and plan all marine technical training programs (timing, resources, cost). Be the main point of contact for motorsport & PTV technical training.Design and deliver learning programs that will support corporate, dealer and B2B in conjunction with key stakeholders within Canada, USA and Japan.Manage framework for marine technical certification requirements including design of the certification path. Responsible for all reporting including maintaining training records, certifications, fill rate and monthly/annual/ad hoc reports.Management and oversight of marine academy supplies used for technical training (tools, equipment, diagnostic equipment, training fleet, etc.).Participate in product planning committee meetings, representing marine technical training.Work with technical schools and Skills Canada to enhance the Yamaha brand through product donation programs, development of training curriculum, training facilitation and more.Education Requirements And/or Experience RequirementsDegree/Diploma: Post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent work experienceProgram of Study: Prefer technical designationYears of Experience: 3+ years technical marine retail/wholesale experience, 2+ year instructional design and deliveryType of Experience: Marine industry experienceLicenses: Valid auto driver’s license & PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operators Card)Skills And AbilitiesCommon technician skills – Correct use of hand and power tools, safe workshop practicesExcellent understanding of marine technology and repair, Yamaha products preferredTraining creation (including ILT, video based and web-based)Ability to manage time and work with minimal supervision while meeting objectivesSkilled at managing multiple priorities and handling multiple tasksAbility to clearly communicate goals and objectivesAbility to work co-operatively within a team environmentComputer skills required: Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, LMSAdvanced operator skills for assigned productsWillingness to travel internationally as requiredProven ability to be an effective team leader and collaboratorExcellent communication skills (interpersonal, presentation and written) in English & French (preferred)Travel And Overtime RequirementsOccasional travel within CanadaOccasional travel internationallyYamaha Motor Canada Ltd. welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
