Reporting to the Partners of the firm; the successful candidate is expected to play a leadership role within the company on all financial matters. The Controller spearheads the finance and accounting operations, playing a pivotal role in delivering insightful business counsel to the Partners.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights into the firm’s financial performance.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Collaborate with partners to analyze financial data and support strategic decision-making.
  • Supervise a team of admin/accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.

What we’re looking for;

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA designation is preferred but not a necessity. 
  • You have a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience from a professional services environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient abilities using various financial software including Quickbooks, Microsoft Systems (Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
