We are seeking a senior System Designer to lead multi‑disciplinary product development for Lumentum’s OCS product line, focusing on AI/ML datacenter applications. Position Overview The Lumentum OCS System Design & Architecture development team is looking for a new Design Authority to grow our team. This role is the technical lead and overall product design owner throughout its lifecycle, coordinating with HW, SW, FPGA, Verification, Reliability, Project Management, PLM and Operations. Responsibilities Lead product definition and design across a multi‑disciplinary team. Support manufacturing through yield review and failure analysis. Drive integration and initial validation testing on new designs. Review design and test reports. Coordinate failure analysis activities throughout product life‑cycle. Provide lifecycle support as product line matures, managing EOL components, cost reductions, and field failures. Qualifications Physics, engineering physics or relevant engineering degree. 5+ years experience in product development with exposure to optics, hardware, and firmware. Experience in the optical networking industry is preferred. Technical leadership experience in a multidisciplinary environment. Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate cross‑disciplinary discussions. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
