Previous experience as an Expert Witness is preferred, enabling the candidate to take on instructions independently with support as needed. During the interview process, your relevant experience will be discussed, and we will require redacted examples of your report writing.The role is hybrid, combining remote work with office presence. The preferred office locations are London, Manchester, Birmingham, or Bristol, but the role is flexible regarding location. Applicants must have at least 10 years of professional experience as a fire engineer, with some experience acting as an Expert Witness.Who are we?Ridge Expert Witness Advisory Services (EWAS) is a team of construction experts supporting solicitors in property litigation, including Fire Engineering, Building Surveying, Architectural, Structural, and Services experts.ResponsibilitiesBuilding inspections, focusing on cladding and internal fire compartmentation, and report writing (training provided).Desktop reviews of information.Attending expert meetings and drafting joint statements.Providing oral and written evidence in court or tribunals, including cross-examination.Further details will be discussed during the interview.Candidate requirementsExtensive experience in a related role, demonstrated during the interview process, is essential.Chartered or Incorporated Fire Engineer with a strong technical background in construction.Confident decision-maker, aware of limits of knowledge.Knowledge of current industry standards, regulations, and guidance.Problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical information.Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.Interpersonal skills, willing to take instruction and training.Flexible, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Willing to travel regionally for site visits.Additional detailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Management and ManufacturingIndustry: Construction #J-18808-Ljbffr
