Job Title: Senior Accountant
Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to manage and oversee our manufacturingclients financial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success and growth of our clientsorganization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards. Review financial reports for accuracy and completeness, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or variances.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring proper classification and accurate recording of financial transactions. Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of the company's budget and forecast. Collaborate with department heads to gather relevant data, analyze trends, and prepare comprehensive budget reports.
- Cost Accounting: Conduct cost analysis and variance analysis to identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Monitor and analyze production costs, inventory levels, and manufacturing expenses to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Financial Analysis: Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reports to support management decision-making. Evaluate business performance, profitability, and cash flow trends, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Tax Compliance: Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements. Prepare and file tax returns accurately and timely, minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing available deductions.
- Audit Support: Facilitate external audits by preparing audit schedules, providing necessary documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries. Assist in implementing audit recommendations to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen internal controls. Implement best practices and standardized procedures to optimize financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, financial analysis techniques, and cost accounting methodologies.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and data analysis tools.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
