Land & Right of Way, Summer Student Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state. Trans Mountain also operates a state‑of‑the‑art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, providing tidewater access to global markets. With our expanded pipeline system now in place, Trans Mountain provides enhanced direct access for Canadian crude oil to world markets. As a Summer Student, Land & Right of Way, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and fast‑paced group of professionals. This position can be based in our Calgary Head office or Burnaby Regional office and will report to Manager, Land & Right of Way. Duration May 4, 2025 to August 21, 2026. Key Responsibilities Assist with updates to our land and administration files, including new data entry and identification of deficient data pertaining to properties, land use, easements, and other documents and information. Undertake necessary research and data source retrieval, including land title searches, corporate record searches and direct calls to landowners and occupants to maintain a current record of ownership and land interests on properties over which our pipeline systems operate. Assist with information research and analysis and file preparation in support of our land representatives/agents. Source file information and provide information as requested by internal and external parties. Research, analyze, and report on information in local land use documents, bylaws, and web map applications. Work with internal and external databases and software applications. Create simple maps in GIS. Prepare and track information, analyze data, and create PowerPoint presentations. Assist land agents with the delivery of landowner packages as part of our Public Awareness program. Communicate with stakeholders effectively. Qualifications and Professional Experience Enrolled in one of the following fields of study: Business/Real Estate, Urban Planning, Political Science, Geography or Environment, preferably in the 2nd or 3rd year of program. Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint). Some knowledge of ArcGIS, records management systems and data entry protocols would be an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to multi‑task effectively, with strong organizational and time‑management skills. Must be a team player with a positive attitude. Self‑motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision. Able to prioritize and handle multiple priorities. Other Requirements and Information Must be enrolled in an accredited post‑secondary institution and return to full‑time studies in the fall. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is a must.
