Applications are invited for the position of Paramedic Program Manager in the School of Allied Health, Health Sciences Division, located at the Welland Campus. The starting salary is $87,240 ($87,240-$109,049) for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Allied Health, the Paramedic Programs Manager (PPM) will oversee key academic and operational processes, working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and support areas. The PPM serves as the primary point of contact for students and staff and ensures the quality of curriculum and delivery, including support for curriculum renewal, review, and accreditation processes. This role also acts as an advocate for the program, assisting with marketing initiatives and securing support from industry experts and clinical partners. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide advice and counsel to students from point of program entry to point of exit Serve as the primary point of contact for student feedback and student-related problem solving Identify and coordinate appropriate resources for students and staff to support their needs Participate in the approval process for course outlines and support program review, accreditation, student enrolment, and start-up processes in collaboration with the Associate Dean Plan, schedule, develop agendas for, and lead program meetings Provide input to the Associate Dean regarding academic strategies and identify emerging trends in the paramedicine field Act as a program advocate with external and professional communities Work collaboratively with faculty and support staff to continually review and improve curriculum content and delivery Coordinate team activities to ensure the effective delivery of the Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) and Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) programs Provide clinical oversight for the PCP and ACP programs Identify supplies required for program delivery, initiate purchases, and provide input regarding program capital needs Respond to and resolve student and staff issues in a timely manner Liaise with the Associate Dean to proactively address health and safety requirements and ensure safe practices and procedures are maintained Network with potential employers and program supporters Qualifications: Two (2) year Primary Care Paramedic Diploma Graduate Certificate in Advanced Care Paramedic from an accredited program Current Advanced Care Paramedic Graduate Certification Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience working as an Advance Care Paramedic Experience teaching or training post-secondary education Preferred candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study Experience and understanding of National Occupational Competency Profiles (NOCP) for Paramedic Practitioners in Canada for accredited Paramedic Programs Knowledge and understanding of the obligations set forth the Basic/Advanced Life Support Patient Care Standards and the Ministry of Health’s regulations governing the provision of Ambulance Services Demonstrated supervisory skills and experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with a diverse set of internal and external partners Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and facilitate cooperation with internal and external partners Well-developed computer skills using a variety of software including Microsoft Office applications Niagara College is a place-based organization, and all positions are primarily based on campus.
