Job Title and Summary Business Development Representative (Hybrid role) – working out of our Kitchener office 3 days per week. The BDR promotes D2L products and services, establishes customer relationships, and provides qualified leads to the Sales teams. The primary market focus is the education and corporate sectors. The role requires knowledge of D2L solutions, awareness of the competitive landscape, and a keen interest in the eLearning industry. The role emphasizes prospecting, lead qualification, pipeline management, and achieving quarterly revenue targets. Responsibilities Be a subject matter expert and advocate for prospecting strategies and CRM processes Mentor team members to develop Business Development skills Assist in training and onboarding new hires Contribute to and maintain the BD team course in Spark Develop effective sales kits with Bus Dev leaders and Marketing Exceed objectives within the assigned territory Understand and convey D2L's value proposition and create solution visions for prospects Participate in outbound calling campaigns to generate opportunities Accurately capture and qualify leads from tradeshows, webinars, inbound calls, and other marketing initiatives Follow up with existing D2L contacts and develop them into sales prospects Distribute leads and schedule qualified appointments for Sales Executives Monitor and respond to the D2L Sales inbox and website inquiries Create and update lead generation emails and phone scripts Update customer interactions through the CRM tool Complete sales reports and present findings to executive management Conduct market research and stay updated on product, industry knowledge, competitors Represent D2L at occasional tradeshows; some travel may be required Qualifications 1+ years of experience in Business Development Experience in eLearning, education sector, enterprise software and/or high-tech solutions is preferred Interest in pursuing a sales career in a fast-paced environment Proactive and goal-oriented with the ability to maintain consistent activity to generate leads and meet quarterly objectives Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong time management and ability to multi-task, prioritize work independently Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decision makers Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Degree or diploma in Business, Marketing or related AI Skills (optional): Experience using AI-powered sales engagement and CRM tools to optimize prospecting and outreach Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate email drafting, lead research, and outreach personalization Comfort interpreting AI-generated insights and prioritizing outreach and follow-up Curious mindset with a passion for experimenting with tools that improve workflow efficiency, including AI-based solutions Benefits and Compensation This posting is for future candidate consideration. The expected base salary range is listed below and may be adjusted based on knowledge, skills, education, training, and experience.
