321235 Methodologies - Ratings Analyst: S&P Global Ratings – S&P Global Overview The Methodologies Group is responsible for developing, maintaining, updating, and retiring all the Criteria and Models used to assign credit ratings by S&P Global Ratings analysts worldwide. As a Methodologies Analyst, you will be embedded within the Corporate and Infrastructure Methodologies Group, working closely with Criteria and Model Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and update Criteria and Models, support the assignment and tracking of Criteria interpretations, Ratings to Principles, Criteria Borrowings and Exceptions, and assist in periodic Criteria review processes. Responsibilities And Impact Under guidance of senior colleagues, contribute to the development or update of criteria and relevant analyses by conducting detailed research and analysis demonstrating knowledge of the criteria; Use S&P methodology and standards, Excel, financial models, or other analytical tools to assist senior colleagues and achieve group objectives; Maintain research records management; Coordinate with global offices to ensure consistent data usage across international borders; All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week; Candidates reaching the final interview stage must attend an in‑person interview at the nearest S&P Global Ratings office. What We’re Looking For Persistence with a natural curiosity about credit markets and technical detail; Well‑rounded communication skills implementing good listening techniques, clear verbal expression, and effective communication across diverse groups; Teamwork orientation with collaboration focus and adaptability to diverse teams. Minimum Qualifications 1–3 years’ work experience in a relevant field; Basic understanding of capital markets; Basic understanding of database modeling and applications; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with VBA knowledge; Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Master’s or advanced degree; Knowledge of SQL and experience with databases such as Oracle, Sybase, or Access; Knowledge of other programming languages, including R, Python, C++, Matlab; Experience with financial instruments emphasizing credit risk modeling.
