About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use): 09981235 Methodologies – Ratings Analyst, S&P Global RatingsThe TeamThe Methodologies Group is responsible for developing, maintaining, updating, and retiring the Criteria and Models used to assign credit ratings by S&P Global Ratings analysts worldwide. As a Methodologies Analyst, you will be embedded within the Corporate and Infrastructure Methodologies Group to work closely with Criteria Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Model SMEs from the related Ratings Practice area. The scope includes helping develop, maintain, update Criteria and Models, supporting the assignment and tracking of Criteria interpretations, Ratings to Principles, Criteria Borrowings and Criteria Exceptions, and assisting in the periodic Criteria review process and republication of non-material changes to Criteria.The ImpactBy supporting and working under the direction of Methodologies SMEs, your contributions will enhance our ability to produce high-impact, insightful research and models and grow our relevance in an evolving market.What’s in it for you? Responsibilities and Impact Under guidance of senior colleagues, contribute to the development of new or updates to existing criteria or other analyses with detailed research that demonstrates knowledge of relevant criteria. Utilize S&P methodology and standards, Excel, financial models, or other analytical tools to assist senior colleagues and achieve the group’s objectives. Maintain research records management. Coordinate with global offices to ensure data used in analysis is applied consistently across borders. All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week. What We’re Looking For Is persistent with a natural curiosity about credit markets and technical details. Displays well-rounded communication skills with good listening, clear verbal communication, and the ability to interact with diverse groups internally and externally. Works well in a team environment, focusing on collaboration and adapting to diverse teams. Minimum Qualifications 1-3 years’ work experience in a relevant field; general understanding of capital markets. Basic understanding of database modeling/design and applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with knowledge of VBA. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Masters or advanced degree. Knowledge of SQL and databases such as Oracle, Sybase, or Access. Knowledge of other programming languages, including R, Python, C++, Matlab. Financial instruments with an emphasis on credit risk modeling.
