Manager, Land Development & Municipal Engineering, Red Deer WSP is seeking a motivated manager with at least 15 years of progressive experience in engineering, project leadership, and client engagement to lead our Red Deer, Alberta office. The role reports to the Director of Land Development and Municipal Engineering – Southern Alberta. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement business development strategies, coordinating with other internal business lines. Manage and deliver projects in transportation, land development, and municipal infrastructure—including report and proposal writing, client liaison, and project management. Monitor and manage overall workload and staffing levels to maintain utilization targets. Oversee financial and operational performance of the department, achieving key performance indicators. Lead resource management: recruitment, team building, staff development, performance management, salary reviews, and career development plans. Provide effective leadership and collaboration with other disciplines and maintain a diverse group of professionals and technical support staff. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Degree in Engineering or Certificate in Engineering Technology with 15+ years of consulting and/or municipal experience. 8+ years of managing and mentoring technical staff. Experience in business development and client management. Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Expertise in transportation, land development, and municipal engineering design and construction, especially water, sanitary, and stormwater projects (renewal and replacement). Knowledge of the City of Red Deer and surrounding regional municipal clients and market. Project management experience. Ability to work independently and mentor staff.
