The EHS Specialist will help drive a strong safety culture, support system compliance, and maintain clean, organized, safe work environments across multiple locations.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and reinforce safe working practices aligned with company policies and legislative requirementsProvide daily guidance and support on EHS programsBuild strong relationships, communicate effectively, and collaborate as a key team memberCoach employees and leaders to promote safe behaviors and achieve zero incidentsSupport incident reporting, investigations, and ensure corrective actions are completed on timeReview incidents for root cause and prevention opportunitiesAssist with new hire and returning employee orientationContribute to the development, maintenance, and updating of the EHS Management System and documentationDevelop and deliver safety and environmental training for all employeesParticipate in and support JHSC meetingsConduct audits and provide recommendations to ensure policies and procedures are effectively implementedAssist with WSIB claim management and modified duties coordinationEnsure timely development and submission of required reports and regulatory documentationMaintain an accurate training matrix and monthly training scheduleMonitor legislative changes and provide recommendations to leadershipReview EHS KPIs and identify improvement opportunitiesLead and create content for site-level and company-wide EHS meetingsWhat You Bring to the RolePost-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline5 - 7 years of EHS experience, preferably in manufacturingStrong knowledge of OHSA, CSA standards, and legislative requirements; ISO auditing experience considered an assetExperience with EHS system management software (asset)Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levelsCustomer-service mindset with sound judgment and professionalismAbility to manage competing priorities with urgency and accuracyStrong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilitiesExperience selecting/sourcing PPE and coordinating vendor relationshipsAbility to review and approve new materials and equipment from an EHS perspectiveHighly organized, detail-oriented, and proactiveDesire to learn, grow, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvementWhat’s OfferedCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefitsPerformance-based salary increasesA supportive, inclusive environment with growth opportunitiesApproachable and progressive leadership focused on continuous improvementA workplace committed to safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainabilityWe are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace, free of bias and discrimination, where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported.
