The incumbent will be responsible to ensure the home and the children receive the proper care and attention and follow the plan set forth for the home to foster the holistic development of all children in the highest possible regard.ResponsibilitiesLearn the case plan for the primary caregiver(s) and, more specifically, the children.Provide children with age-appropriate activities and programs.Assist with preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for the children; ensure food handling and storage follows appropriate safety guidelines.Monitor behavioral issues and respond appropriately ensuring that children are safe.Attend staff meetings and participate in safety-related initiatives.Adhere to all internal policies and procedures.Ensure the House Leader is kept apprised of all issues related to the children's well-being and Safety.Complete ad hoc or regular reports (e.g. incident reports, daily log books).Maintain confidentiality and privacy of child/family information.Perform related duties as required.AttributesExcellent InterpersonalAble to InitiativePatient and flexible.Strong Problem-Solving.Safety minded.Great Team Player.Qualifications / CertificationsFormal Education: Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Early Childhood Education or Social Work Diploma) is considered an asset.CPR/First Aid and Class 5 License is required.Training in behavioral and crisis management is an asset.All successful candidates must have a positive report from a criminal record check under the vulnerable sector.This position is to work in shifts which include weekend and night shifts.Working Conditions: Driving, sitting and standing for extended periods of time, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling and actively engaging with children.Application Instructions: Please arrange to send your applications to hiring@thomascare.org. #J-18808-Ljbffr
