Available Job Opportunity: Enterprise Solutions Specialist

Location: Vaughan, Ontario

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of IT, the Enterprise Solutions Specialist is responsible for ongoing functional support, planning, design, and implementation of business related projects in the organization’s key financial systems (ERP JDE) and integrated third party solutions (Insight, ReportsNow, STR, Viziya, PowerBI, etc).

The role is also responsible for providing continuous business improvement support to our corporate, operation and project business units. This position will liaise directly with individuals from the various business units in supporting our digital transformation efforts in such areas of business intelligence, advanced analytics, process improvement, and change management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure business continuity by providing day-to-day functional JDE and third party application support;
  • Responsible for delivering Business Intelligence (BI) and other types of reporting required by the business;
  • Provide technical support in leading the integration of business data systems to support data analytics within the enterprise business intelligence platform;
  • Perform data analysis to explore data insights using statistical methods to identify trends and make predictions to support data driven business decisions;
  • Lead expert level reviews of business processes and assess key strengths and major areas for improvement that meet stakeholder expectations. Research technology solution providers to select candidates in supporting continuous improvement initiatives in preparation of sourcing requests for digital transformation projects;
  • Work with site teams to develop and document business requirements that support future state solutions;
  • Apply structured query language to query and extract data from Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases;
  • Create interactive dashboards and reports that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders;
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Required/Related Work Experience:

  • Data Analytics and/or Business Analysis certification preferred;
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle database systems;
  • In depth knowledge of business intelligence applications such MS Power BI, Tableau, or SiSense;
  • 5-10 years of data analysis and business analysis experience, preferably in the mining and metals industry;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting JDE ERP application (functional support);
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading or being the SME of a JDE Major Upgrade and/or other business driven projects (to implement new functionalities or enhance existing business processes in JDE);
  • Minimum 5 years of experience creating JDE reports via third-party solution such as PowerBI;
  • Minimum 2 years working with Business Intelligence solution(s);
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and R;
  • Familiarity with Linux and Unix shell scripting, and data warehouses;
  • Good computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Office (including Visio and Microsoft Project).

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Computer Sciences or Information Technology;
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal communication;
  • Spanish language would be considered an asset.

Special Skills

  • Resourcefulness and ability to devise creative solutions to problems;
  • Excellent written, communication and leadership skills;
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead and train site teams;
  • Business acumen and ability to develop business cases for improvement opportunities;
  • Strong knowledge of the mining operations lifecycle, associated knowledge areas and business processes would be considered an asset.

Other

  • Eligible to work full time in Canada for over 1 year period;
  • Availability to work After work hours, On-Call and to work on different shifts during the year to adjust for different time zones.
