Associate, Mid-Market Investment Banking Join CIBC as an Associate on our Mid-Market Investment Banking team, the longest‑serving mid‑market investment banking team in Canada. This role supports execution of M&A, divestiture, and capital raising advisory mandates for private companies. What You’ll Be Doing Support transaction execution: information gathering, creation of marketing materials, financial analysis, and due diligence. Prepare confidential information memorandums, pitch books, management presentations, and detailed financial models. Research market activity and trends, conforming to CIBC policies and standards. How You’ll Succeed Collaboration: Work with managing directors and team members across CIBC groups. Workflow: Build presentations and financial models; analyze business valuations (comparable, precedent, DCF). Networking: Cultivate relationships with peers at other financial institutions, PE groups, and industry associations. Who You Are Education: Undergraduate degree in business‑related discipline and a professional designation (e.g., CPA, CBV, CFA). Industry Experience: 3‑5 years in investment banking, M&A advisory, due diligence, private equity, or corporate development. Technical Skills: Strong financial modeling & analysis, Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Bloomberg/CapIQ; excellent writing and presentation skills. Detail Oriented: Ability to manage multiple files with high accuracy and meet tight deadlines. Values: Demonstrates trust, teamwork, and accountability.
