The municipality is currently recruiting a summer student to work in its Information Technology department. Position Responsibilities The usual responsibilities of the position are: Monitor and respond to service requests as they are assigned. Decommission, document, and inventory IT hardware for sale or destruction. Implement, deploy, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure across multiple locations including but not limited to software, workstations, networks, servers, and mobile devices. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance procedures, updates and preventative support for the network, software, and workstations. Provide friendly and courteous technical support including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware/software and office equipment issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience All applicants must provide confirmation of post‑secondary full time student status in current academic year and/or acceptance into full time studies in September 2026. Knowledge of Windows 11 systems and Microsoft 365 products (Outlook/Word/Excel/Teams/OneDrive). Knowledge of networking systems and best practices (IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLANs at a conceptual level, Wi prendeFi troubleshooting). Knowledge of IT cybersecurity best practices.通信。 Knowledge of IT hardware (PC/laptop teardown, SSD/RAM swaps, peripheral setup). Organization and documentation skills Customer service and clear communications skills. Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with staff and the public in an effective and courteous manner. Rate of Pay The rate of pay is $21.33 per hour (2026 rate) plus vacation pay and statutory holidays as per the Employment Standards Act. Hours of Work This position will workAILY 35 hours per week, including afternoons and weekends. Successful incumbents must be available to work exclusively from May to Labour Day.
