The Foreman will play a crucial role in supervising and coordinating daily construction activities on‑site, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires strong leadership abilities and hands‑on experience in commercial and multi‑family construction.Key Responsibilities:On‑Site Supervision: Oversee daily operations on the construction site, including managing and directing crew members, subcontractors, and vendors.Work Coordination: Ensure that construction activities are carried out according to project plans, specifications, and schedules.Quality Assurance: Monitor work performance and workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards and building codes.Safety Management: Enforce safety procedures and regulations on‑site to maintain a safe working environment and minimize risks.Materials & Equipment: Manage and track construction materials and equipment, ensuring availability and proper use.Problem‑Solving: Address and resolve any on‑site issues or conflicts in a timely manner, maintaining project momentum.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, labor hours, and material usage.Communication: Act as a liaison between the project manager, tradespeople, and other stakeholders, providing updates and feedback as needed.Training: Mentor and train junior staff and new hires to ensure they understand and adhere to project standards and procedures.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Foreman or in a similar supervisory role, with hands‑on experience in commercial mixed‑use and multi‑family construction.Education: Relevant education or trade certification in construction, building trades, or a related field is preferred.Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and building codes relevant to commercial and multi‑family projects.Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid, WHMIS) are preferred.Problem‑Solving: Ability to quickly identify and address issues or delays to keep projects on track.What We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunities for career advancement and professional development.A supportive and collaborative work environment.Participation in impactful construction projects within the Nanaimo area.How to Apply:To apply, please send your resume and cover letter to pstegner@linxusgroup.com with the subject line Foreman Application [Your Name].
