Senior Compliance Officer, Enterprise Risk Management FinDev Canada, Canada’s development financial institution, is looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to join our growing Enterprise Risk Management team. This role offers the opportunity to shape compliance and risk strategy across the organization and make a lasting impact on sustainable development projects worldwide. Location: FinDev Canada headquarters in downtown Montreal. Ottawa or Toronto may be considered under a hybrid model (home/office). Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time. Salary: $109,810 – $146,413 annually plus a performance-based incentive. Team: Enterprise Risk Management. Position & Team Overview The Senior Compliance Officer works closely with the compliance and enterprise risk management teams within the Chief Risk Officer’s group. The role ensures effective implementation and enhancement of the Compliance Risk Management Program, supporting regulatory compliance and ethical standards. What You Will Be Doing Support implementation of FinDev Canada’s Compliance Program, including legal and regulatory requirements related to financial crime, privacy, conflicts of interest, insider trading, and other risks. Design, implement, and test controls for compliance and enterprise risks; conduct risk assessments and develop more effective controls. Draft, review, implement, and monitor enterprise risk management policy instruments. Identify and assess compliance issues and collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate risks aligned with strategic priorities. Develop training and provide guidance on compliance and risk matters. Collaborate to produce compliance reports for senior management, the Risk Management Committee, and the Board of Directors. Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry trends to advise on emerging risks. What We Are Looking For Must‑haves Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, law, or related field. Minimum 10 years of compliance or enterprise risk management experience in the financial services sector. Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across geographies. Proficiency in enterprise risk management and risk assessment tools. Fluency in both official languages (English & French). Nice‑to‑Haves Professional certifications (CCRCM, CAMS, etc.). International experience relevant to FinDev Canada’s focus regions (Latin America, Caribbean, Indo‑Pacific, Sub‑Saharan Africa).
