Field Service Technician / Truck and Transport Mechanic – British ColumbiaOur client is growing and looking to add a skilled Field Service Technician to their service team. Based in British Columbia, this role provides direct technical support to customers across the province, with occasional travel to Alberta to complete on-site vehicle repairs. In this position, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of a diverse bus fleet operating throughout Western Canada. This is a hands‑on, technical role ideal for someone who thrives in the field, excels at diagnostics, and is looking for long‑term advancement within a forward‑moving organization.About YouYou bring a mature, self‑driven approach to your work and can collaborate confidently with colleagues at every level.You lead with a customer‑first mindset and consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and strong service values.Building rapport comes naturally—you establish trust quickly with both internal teams and external clients.You’re comfortable working independently and managing your workload with minimal supervision.Your organizational and time‑management abilities help you stay on top of shifting priorities.You have strong analytical instincts and excel at diagnosing technical issues, developing solutions, and explaining findings in clear, everyday language.You can support the sales cycle by explaining after‑sales service options to prospective clients when needed.You communicate clearly—both in writing and in person.QualificationsAt least 2 years of experience in the transit or commercial vehicle sector.Possession of Inter‑Provincial, or British Columbia Certified License (Truck and Transport Mechanic) to service transit buses, passenger vehicles, and heavy‑duty trucks.Strong understanding of automotive, bus, truck, and/or electric vehicle systems.Practical experience working with electrical, mechanical, or field service equipment.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues.Comfortable interacting with customers and providing clear, helpful communication.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Valid Class 2 driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement.A clean driving record and the ability to operate company or customer vehicles safely.Please reply to this posting with a copy of your resume OR e‑mail your resume to bc@ablemployment.com and mention job # 26240.After submitting your resume, you will receive a reach out from our virtual recruiter.
