Inside Account Manager, eCommerce Packaging

The Inside Account Manager (IAM), eCommerce Packaging, will be responsible to grow assigned accounts, close new customers, and meet or exceed annual sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction. The IAM presents a professional image at all times to customers and can articulate over the phone/email to win the business. The IAM is responsible for managing the sales performance of accounts, ensuring ongoing and consistent telephone, e-mail, and any other form of communication. This position will proactively call on prospects and customers to sell products and services, as well as take inbound orders from customers or prospects. The IAM sells the eCommerce Packaging product (and all other) offering of the company and its’ suppliers to the account base. The IAM is expected to maintain good customer relationships with clients and liaison with the customer on various matters including: credit worthiness, needs assessment, order fulfillment, delivery, and invoicing. The IAM is responsible for internally coordinating and expediting all customer related initiatives. Key Responsibilities Generates new and repeat sales by answering customer inquiries and providing product & technical information in a timely manner Develops and maintains a relationship with each client and an understanding of customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions Proactively assesses the needs and requirements of customer accounts and recommends products and services needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability Increases sales and average order sizes by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, and offering solutions appropriate for each customer account Educates customers about terminology, features, and benefits of products & services in order to improve sales and customer satisfaction Recommends alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications Presents price and all Terms & Conditions of Sales in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profitability profiles Prepares and communicates proposals to customers Assesses and gathers competitive market information: direct & indirect, including capabilities, strengths, weaknesses, account base, style, pricing practices, etc. Maintains an ongoing prospect list of new business opportunities Accurately processes customer transactions such as quotes, orders, releases, or returns Provides accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items and expected dates of delivery Fills requests for information or samples Monitors orders through system, including regular order follow-up, to ensure timely delivery and expedites as needed Contacts customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints Responsible for keeping all contact and information systems up to date, accurate, and complete Collaborates harmoniously with internal manufacturing and support staff throughout the order fulfillment and problem resolution process for customers, including: quality issues, credit collection and management, etc. Qualifications and Experience Minimum 2 years relevant sales experience, in similar position preferred Basic, working knowledge of printing and/or converting required Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling strategies and techniques Demonstrated success meeting sales goals and growing sales Effective listening, business communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and phone skills Accuracy with managing data and attention to detail Ability to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact Effective time management skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities Able to multi-task Able to perform business math (basic algebra, compute rate, ratio, etc.) Candidate Profile Able to learn and retain product knowledge in a short ramp up period Ability to quickly develop an understanding of market, market forces, and influences Capable of developing pricing and proposals Knows how to “wow” the customer with a great first impression and has honed listening skills Develops solutions for common customer questions and concerns to be able to respond to customers on cue Typically gets “last look” or opportunity to match competitive pricing Proactively assess the needs and requirements of account base and initiates appropriate steps to ensure needs/requirements are fulfilled Works well and harmoniously with manufacturing and support staff of the Company Sells the entire products offering of the company and its’ suppliers to account base Comfortable with current technology and most forms of commerce Consistently an above average performer Articulate on the phone to describe products & services in order to gain the business on cold calls and inbound calls Manages time effectively and is able to respond to customer requests, concerns, and complaints whenever needed by customers Ethical Learns from peers and takes advantage of networking opportunities Eager to continuously improve and develop skills and knowledge Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Health Benefits to support your well-being Retirement Plan – A retirement plan to help you plan for the future.
