Indigenous Rights Engagement Specialist Located in Vancouver, this full‑time role requires working in office at least four days per week. Overview Dillon consults on planning, engineering, and environmental projects and is seeking a passionate Indigenous Rights Engagement Specialist to support client work and Indigenous partners. The ideal candidate builds relationships, works collaboratively, and brings strong technical capabilities. Your opportunity The successful candidate will support planning, environmental science, and engineering teams across Dillon. Key duties include: Assist with engagement processes related to the Duty to Consult. Build relationships with Indigenous communities through project consultation. Integrate Indigenous Knowledge into assessment and planning. Support socio‑cultural and Aboriginal & Treaty rights impact assessment processes. Our teams serve public, private, and Indigenous clients on projects nationwide, including infrastructure, environmental assessment, and planning. Responsibilities – What your day will look like Support collection of Indigenous Knowledge and socio‑cultural/land use data. Conduct background research, synthesis, and analysis. Assist with baseline programs and impact assessments involving Indigenous peoples. Analyze qualitative data and prepare high‑quality reports following best practices and cultural protocols. Support community consultation and engagement programs. Assist with socio‑economic data collection as needed. Commit to ongoing self‑development and professional growth. Participate in professional associations and committees to enhance Dillon’s corporate profile. Qualifications Degree in social sciences, geography, resource management, Indigenous studies, anthropology, archaeology, or related field. 1–2 years of directly relevant experience, preferably in consulting. Experience Experience on federal and provincial environmental assessment projects. Working with Indigenous communities in Canada on Indigenous Knowledge, traditional land use, and socio‑cultural assessments. Strong verbal and written communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills; able to meet tight timelines. Adaptive to emerging challenges. High critical‑thinking skills. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel. Capable of working across multiple time zones. Compensation Salary range: $64,481 – $85,198, commensurate with experience and based on internal equity and geographic region.
