Long Term Occasional Assignment OECTA This role is a Long Term Occasional (LTO) teaching assignment with the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB). Qualifications Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers Successful completion of the Sexual Abuse Prevention Training through OCT Applicant must be a licensed teacher in the province of Ontario Salary: Each teacher's salary will be determined in accordance with Article 32 of the OECTA Collective Agreement. Effective September 1, 2025, teacher salaries will range from $51,234.00 to $119,943.00. How to Apply: Submit all applications through Apply to Education. Process For Selection The school board shall identify the three most senior applicants to the LTO assignment posting who are available for the assignment and hold the required qualifications. An Occasional Teacher shall be considered available for the assignment if said teacher has not already been assigned to another LTO position during the term of the LTO assignment being filled in accordance with this process. Each of the three most senior applicants shall be contacted and asked to confirm that they wish to be considered for the position. If any of the three applicants indicate that they do not wish to be considered, the board shall contact the next most senior qualified applicant, thereby ensuring that five applicants are considered. Should less than three (3) qualified applicants apply to the LTO assignment posting, the school board shall select the successful applicant from the qualified applicants. If no qualified occasional teachers apply to the LTO assignment posting or if all qualified applicants decline the position, the school board may hire an external qualified teacher, who is not on the roster, to fill this assignment. An external qualified teacher not currently on the OT roster with the OCSB first will need to pass the OT interview process to be considered for this vacancy. Successful candidates not currently employed by the OCSB will be required to submit a negative PRC for the Vulnerable Sector dated within the last six months as part of the hiring process.
