This multi-year position as a Research Associate will support the Institute’s Principal Investigators in the design and crystal growth of bulk materials exhibiting emerging quantum phenomena. The candidate will also study the structural, magnetic, and electronic properties of these materials using a range of techniques, as a complement to existing expertise.Under the direction of the Principal Investigators working on this project, the successful candidate will:oversee the operation of a state-of-the-art floating zone crystal growth lab;mentor a team of students and postdocs;through crystal growth, support multiple research groups that specialize in neutron scattering, scanning probe microscopy, ARPES, and optical investigations;coordinate and interpret measurements;publicize research findings through presentations at international conferences and preparing articles for peer-reviewed journals;contribute to writing funding proposals that will add new capabilities to the crystal growth facility.SBQMI is a world-leading venture into research of systems and phenomena involving quantum materials.
