Powertrain Controls Engineer – Senior LER TechForce is seeking a Powertrain Controls Engineer – Senior to join our advanced propulsion engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting‑edge powertrain technologies and contribute to the next generation of vehicle performance, efficiency, and drivability. In this role, you will lead new feature development and enhancements to existing control algorithms across multiple propulsion platforms. You will collaborate with a highly skilled cross‑functional team and leverage tools such as HIL, dyno test stands, rapid prototyping, virtual testing, and full‑vehicle validation —following a V‑model product development process to ensure algorithm robustness and production readiness. What You’ll Do Partner closely with systems and calibration groups to fully understand requirements and feature intent Develop implementation strategies and control algorithms that meet functional and performance objectives Analyze and document impacts against regulatory and safety requirements Apply markup / modeling updates to ensure design meets all functional and operational criteria Support design validation and production verification activities Create timing plans, monitor progress, and communicate status to leadership and project chiefs Contribute to decision‑making on control strategy direction and architecture What You Bring Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering , or a related discipline 5–8 years of relevant engineering experience Hands‑on Functional Safety algorithm design using Simulink — HIGHLY IMPORTANT Strong knowledge of MATLAB / Simulink development workflows Background in powertrain systems, computer‑based tools, process‑driven development, and calibration refinement Embedded software and / or electronic module / system experience is a plus Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Self‑starter with the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering organizations Company Description LER TechForce, previously LHP Engineering Resources, was founded in 2001 and has boasted year‑over‑year growth ever since.
