Do you have a strong background in all areas of accounting and financial reporting? Our client in the west end is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to support preparation of financial statements, provide financial analysis to the senior leadership team and support the G&A and Project budget and forecast activities.The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the year end audit and get involved in other projects as well. This is a hands on role that works under tight deadlines and participates in all areas of accounting and month-end. Special projects will also be assigned as required. Key responsibilities include:Prepare and analyze monthly reconciliations for various general ledger accountsReview and post monthly accounting and bank entriesPrepare financial statements and notes disclosure for financial statements and MDA for areas of responsibilityPrepare balance sheet analysis at financial statement levelEnsure consistency between various externally published documents such as financial statements, M,D&A, investor presentation, press release.Manage the administration and communication of new products and ensure proper accounting treatmentReview and interpret debt documentationPrepare preliminary debt related reports for the boardManage the administration of covenant reportingPrepare legal entity financial statementsLiaise with external auditors and internal audit team to provide the documents needed for review and auditLiaise with operations finance and property managers to ensure proper understanding of results and transactions, while providing guidance over complex accounting items and other issuesSupport the balance sheet and income statement audit and review processesSupport the effort to prepare annual budget for areas of responsibilitySupport corporate accounting projects and business plan initiativesSupport financing, acquisition and divestiture activitiesPrepare complex journal entriesIdentify and implement financial and operational process improvements and streamline workflowOther ad‑hoc activities as assignedRequirements3+ years of experience in general accounting and financial reporting, including financial statements preparationKnowledge of IFRSLooking to pursue a career in accounting and financial reportingPost‑secondary degree in accounting, finance, or business administrationCurrently possesses or in the final stages of completion of the professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)Experience with accounting software, specifically OneStream and Yardi (preferred)Seniority levelMid‑Senior levelEmployment typeFull‑timeJob functionAccounting/AuditingIndustriesReal Estate and Hospitality #J-18808-Ljbffr
