Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) – IGT (Interventional Radiology) Join the Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology at The Hospital for Sick Children. The position is for an experienced Medical Radiation Technologist to support Image Guided Therapy (IGT) procedures. Responsibilities Produce quality medical images for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes upon the request of a physician while ensuring the safety of patients, their family members and staff. Carry out delegated acts. Provide technical interpretations and preliminary technologist reports. Perform contrast administration and use power injector. Correlate and convey the significance of patient symptoms, lab results and image findings to a radiologist. Perform sterile technique. Handle sedated and general anesthesia patients under the supervision of an anesthesiologist or a registered nurse. Perform post-processing or analysis of image data. Provide troubleshooting expertise as required to ensure integrity of imaging systems and to provide operational expertise to users. Maintain effective communication with patients, their families and hospital staff. Qualifications Successful completion of an accredited program in Medical Radiation Technology (B.Sc. or diploma program). Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Recent experience with intra-operative cases and advanced imaging techniques. Good technical skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Attention to detail is critical. Excellent problem solving, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work with children. Proficiency with computers.
