We are a diverse, driven, transparent and thoughtful team, and are accountable to each other, the sector, and the customers we serve.We are theOntario Energy Board.The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is currently looking for an enthusiastic, collaborative and driven 8-month term Co-op Student to join the Corporate Communications team of our Public Affairs (PA) division.The PA division acts as a bridge between the OEB and a variety of stakeholders that includes the public, consumers, media, the electricity and natural gas sectors, and government. In doing so, the PA team develops, implements and manages integrated communications strategies to enhance the OEB’s reputation, build consumer trust, and ensure transparent dissemination of information in support of the organization’s mandate. Ultimately, the PA division strives to create and maintain a positive public image, advocate for the organization, and foster strong stakeholder relationships.ResponsibilitiesYou will have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of areas, including:Writing engaging content for internal and external audiences across a range of channels including newsletters, website etc.Supporting logistical and strategic planning for consumer outreachAssisting with the creation of briefing notes and presentationsContributing to the designing and development of promotions for corporate reports, internal communications, and eventsSupport media relations activitiesContributing to evaluation/analytics reporting.Performing other duties that will help you grow within your chosen discipline and field of study.QualificationsPursuing formal studies in communications, public relations or journalismAn interest in public policy, the energy sector and governmentSuperior writing and grammar skillsKnowledge of popular social media platforms (blogs, "X", LinkedIn etc.)Extremely organized with strong project management skills and attention to detailFast learner who can adapt complex concepts to simple ones.Pursuant to theAccessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the Ontario Energy Board will make reasonable efforts to provide accommodation to candidates with disabilities in the course of the recruitment process upon written request.
