Base pay rangeCA$100,000.00/yr - CA$130,000.00/yrOverviewASCO’s Senior Estimator plays a major leadership role within the preconstruction team by leading the development of proposals, budgets and accurate and competitive cost estimates for ICI projects. This position is responsible for managing the estimating process from concept through bid submission ensuring that all proposals, budgets and bids are complete, competitive and aligned with the strategic goals of the Company.ResponsibilitiesSearch for bid and prequalification opportunitiesDevelop and maintain an up-to-date estimating system complete with labor, material, equipment, and rental costs databaseEvaluate and manage project risks and opportunities from a cost perspectiveCoordinate and participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentationsDevelop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to obtain competitive pricing and ensure accurate bid proposalsMaintain awareness of Construction Industry related trends, advances and improvements, technical or political activities that could affect the companyAnalyze architectural and engineering drawings, project specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor servicesMentor and guide junior estimators and support staff in best practices and estimating techniquesCultivate and maintain positive relationships with architects, consultants and development to attract new and repeat bid opportunitiesQualificationsHold a College or University Degree in construction management, engineering or related fieldMinimum of 10 years experience as Construction Estimator working for a General Contractor in CanadaExcellent knowledge of local market conditions including construction costs and local subcontractor and supplier marketsProficient in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Planswift, Timberline, On-Screen Take Off and the likesHave good working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), MS Project or Primavera scheduling softwareAbility to work on multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlinesHave excellent communication skills in English (mandatory) and in French (preferred)Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skillsExperience with lump sum bids, design-build and GMP projectsBe able to read, understand and interpret complex contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedulesCompetitive employee compensationHealth, Dental and Disability benefits programEmployee Family Assistance ProgramMatching RRSP programProfit sharingPerformance and merit-based recognitionHealth and Wellness (flexible hours, working from home opportunities)Professional and career development opportunitiesSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionBusiness Development, Engineering, and Project ManagementIndustriesCivil Engineering and Architecture and Planning #J-18808-Ljbffr
