For more information about our school district, visit https://www.vsb.bc.ca/ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you will:Gather detailed user requirements for development tasksPrepare solution documentation with detailed resource and completion estimatesDevelop solutions utilizing modern coding methodologies and technologiesAssign tasks and monitor progress for other team colleaguesProvide mentorship to team colleagues on the utilization of our district technology toolsetsEstablish standards and procedures and write specifications, scripts and documentation for technical architecture and systemsPrepare and execute detailed plans for complex multi-functional projectsResearch and analyze emerging trends in technology and systems architecture, evaluate alternatives and make recommendationsDefine and implement standard procedures and best practicesProvide support, direction and apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to address escalated issuesDevelop and deliver training workshops for technical and end user audiencesLiaise with stakeholders, LIT teams, vendors, contractors and other third parties as required to support district servicesPrepare maintenance and communication plans for district services to ensure they remain fit for purposePrepare and deliver presentations to service stakeholders and colleagues on service solutions and technical environmentsPerform information technology support to the DivisionPerform other related duties as requiredQualificationsCompletion of grade 12 plus more than 2 years of full time equivalent post-secondary education in a relevant technology disciplineMinimum of 6 years' progressive experience in information technologyExperience working in a K-12 education organization an assetAdvanced skills in data architecture and full-cycle development of web and mobile applications—from requirements to deploymentExperienced in configuring and managing Office 365 Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps), building and maintaining data gateways, and designing and developing applications using current versions of C#, ASP.NET Framework/.NET Core, jQuery, PowerShell and other relevant programming languagesExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience in designing/delivering presentationsMust be able to meet the following assessment: Hands-on 1 hour series of tasks/problems (70%+)Your application MUST includeCover letterResume3 Professional References: Names, email addresses and phone numbers of your last direct supervisors/managers (contacted only with your prior approval)A copy of your Work Permit (if you are not a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident)COMPENSATIONThe base salary for this position is $82,464 plus a comprehensive benefits package, including Municipal Pension Plan, Vancouver Employee Savings Plan, Extended Health, Dental, Group Life, Long Term Disability, Vacation, & Gratuity Days.
