The primary goals of this course are: 1) an introduction to the Liaison roles in the private sector, skill requirements related to the jobs and marketing yourself for the role (positioning your cover letter and resume); 2) go through exercises typically required for interviews; 3) development of key skills related to success in Pharma Careers such as key opinion leader (KOL) mapping, call plans, customer engagement, and creating/giving presentations on current state of knowledge in a therapeutic area of choice. Class schedule:February 7, 2026 and February 21, 2026 from 10 am – 5 pm Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2026 to April 30, 2026 Salary In accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement):Effective September 1, 2025 Salary (0.25FCE): Qualifications:Applicants must have a PhD degree in biomedical science or a related discipline and have at least 2 years experience working as a MSL at a large pharmaceutical. Applicants must have demonstrated effective teaching experience in a college or university setting. Preference will be given to applicants who or are familiar with the Graduate Professional Development foundational course. Prior experience teaching biomedical graduate students is an asset. Duties:The sessional lecturer will be responsible for the following duties: preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.
