You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of provincial transportation projects including environmental assessments, preliminary and detailed design of highway infrastructure, interchanges and intersections. In this position you will play a critical role on our Ministry of Transportation, Ontario (MTO) project teams as we continue to grow.This position is available at one of our Ontario locations (Toronto, Guelph, Kitchener, Oakville, Windsor, Chatham, Hamilton, London, Kingston & Ottawa) with the opportunity for flexible work arrangements to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.ResponsibilitiesWhat your day will look likeProject Management & DesignManagement of transportation engineering projects and multidisciplinary project teams (including transportation, bridge, electrical and water resource engineers, transportation systems planners, environmental planners, environmental scientists, technical support staff, etc.)Continuous development of technical expertise on a variety of transportation engineering projects, environmental assessments, preliminary design, detailed design and construction phase servicesLead the preparation of technical reports and studies to support the development of transportation designs, including EA documentationLead the preparation of contract documentation, including contract drawings, construction specifications, tender quantity and cost estimates, and working day estimatesManagement and delivery of stakeholder consultation programs and municipal council and agency presentationsProvide regular and effective communication with clients, develop and oversee project budgets and take overall responsibility for successful project deliveryBusiness DevelopmentPrepare estimates and project proposalsTake a leading role in maintaining the MTO client relationshipIdentify and develop new business opportunities, in collaboration with other projects managersContribute to the leadership of the Transportation Facilities GroupBusiness travel for project meetings and to other Dillon offices upon request.Learning & DevelopmentCommit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentInput to the career development of junior and intermediate staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.QualificationsWhat you will need to succeedA degree in civil engineeringLicensed to practice as a professional engineer in the province of OntarioA minimum of 15 years related work experienceProven leadership and business development capabilities.ExperienceProven experience with the MTO environmental assessment process, and preliminary/detail design of provincial facilities infrastructure.Previous experience with alternative project delivery modelsDemonstrated abilities in the management and leadership of multidisciplinary project teamsExceptional abilities in project managementProven skills in public and agency consultationProficiency using Microsoft Applications (Teams, Word, Excel, etc.) and Google SuiteStrong verbal and writing skills, including experience in the preparation of technical memos and reportsWhy choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
