Position Overview The Senior Project Manager has accountability for assigned projects (budget, schedule, and overall customer satisfaction) and ensures the Company’s resources are properly directed for satisfactory contract execution. The Senior Project Manager leads projects with influence and exercises control over budgets, schedules, and non-technical communication. As a Senior Project Manager, these core responsibilities are expected to be performed with greater independence, and a focus on mentorship and coaching of less experienced Project Managers. Location: On-site, Oakville, ON Your Day To Day As a Senior Project Manager Lead diverse, sometimes large (>10 members) teams toward the successful execution of assigned contracts. Provide effective leadership through communicating expectations and instilling accountability. Maintain the project schedule and register, leveraging project team support. Publish project reports accurately and timely as defined in the contract. Take preventative and corrective actions based on project performance metrics to avoid risks and maximize mutual success. Direct resources (human and other) to achieve satisfactory contract execution. Define and clarify uncommon or unique project roles in complex project organizations. Coordinate and support execution of planned activities; review plan effectiveness with the project team and client as needed. Understand, predict, adjust, and react to changes affecting contract execution using change management procedures; maintain baselines and data integrity. Lead the organization of complex proposals and planning efforts for contract submissions and changes. Support sub-contracting to ensure execution within client-defined constraints; manage sub-vendors as needed through the project schedule and register. Balance client and organizational expectations; independently elevate appropriate approaches to avoid escalation within BWXT. Escalate within BWXT when mutual success is jeopardized, with recovery options. Identify, communicate, monitor, mitigate, and avoid risks during contract execution. Ensure contract execution complies with governance and procedures; seek approvals for deviations when necessary. Suggest opportunities to improve governance, procedures, tools, and best practices. Support and sometimes lead the continuous improvement of governance, procedures, tools, and best practices. Support Accounts Receivable in timely receipt of client payments. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or other suitable field from an accredited university; 10 years of related experience; Proven mastery of project management fundamentals (scheduling, earned-value management, budget controls, change management); Demonstrable understanding of complex contract management; Proven mastery in organizing, analyzing, and presenting large and diverse data sets; Demonstrable understanding, comfort and experience with complex client management and commitment to client relationships and mutual success; Professional mastery of English, in written and verbal forms; Preferred 10 years’ experience in Nuclear, Aerospace, Transportation, or other highly regulated and process-based design; 10 years of project management experience in a project-based organization; Experience in the nuclear energy production industry is an asset; High level of competency with Oracle Primavera P6; High level of competency with Microsoft Excel; Project Management Professional certification is an asset. The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $89,000 and $139,000 per year. The base salary offered is based on local market factors and may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
