In return, we promise to provide support, opportunities and performance-led financial rewards at a workplace where you can shape the future, win as a team and grow with us.About The RoleAs a Property & Builders Risk Claims Consultant in our Specialty Lines team, you will handle Wood-Frame construction Builder’s Risk claims from our STRIIOR (MGA) distribution channel. In addition to this, you will handle traditional and renewable Energy Commercial Property claims and Equipment Breakdown claims, including those from our Global Network.What You’ll Do HereInvestigate and evaluate complex Property, including Builders Risk/Course of Construction, and Equipment Breakdown claims to determine coverage and liabilityConduct thorough and timely investigations, including gathering and analyzing relevant information and documentationCommunicate with policyholders, brokers, and other parties involved in the claims process to gather information and provide updates on the status of claimsNegotiate and settle claims in accordance with company policies and proceduresAttend mediations and trialsUtilize knowledge of insurance contracts and industry standards to determine appropriate coverage and settlement amountsMaintain accurate and detailed claim files, including documentation of all activities and decisions madeLeverage your expertise in a creative, continuous improvement environment to support a model of best practice operationsCollaborate with other departments and teams within the company to ensure efficient and effective claims handlingIdentify and investigate potential fraudulent claims and take appropriate actionDeliver and exceed on all key performance indicators as it relates to loss development, claims leakage control and expense managementKeep up to date with industry trends, changes in laws and regulationsProvide excellent customer service to insureds and brokers, addressing any questions or concerns in a timely and professional mannerMentor and provide guidance to less experienced claims adjusters on complex or high-value claimsAdhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standardsParticipate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skillsRepresent the company in a professional manner and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholdersWhat You Bring To The TableSelf-motivated and detail-orientedCritical thinking with intellectual curiosity when approaching complex problems in time-sensitive situationsSkilled communicator who fosters favorable business relationships and provides clear guidance to clients and stakeholders, internal and externalProblem-solver and ability to gather information, evaluate a situation and negotiate the next steps toward a solutionAble to adapt to changing needs and understand the need to be flexible and agileA planner and able to effectively organize to establish an effective strategyA strong collaborator and have a passion for mentoring and coaching othersExperience in Builder’s Risk claims handling (preferred)Undergraduate Degree or CIP designation (asset)Flexibility to travel as neededWhat We OfferOur hybrid work model provides the balance between working from home and enjoying meaningful in-person interactions.Working Here Means You'll Be Empowered To Be And Do Your Best Every Day.
