OverviewJob Summary: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that financial information presented to end users for a group of designated companies is accurate, informative, and available in a timely manner. This includes the preparation of financial statements, key performance indicators, budgets and forecast and supporting schedules. They will also maintain the general ledger to ensure accuracy of all accounts and manage accounting reconciliation for several operating companies.ResponsibilitiesPrepares, analyzes and presents month-end financial statements and various key performance indicators to the management group.Prepares, analyzes and presents year-end budgets and forecasts to the management group.Analyzes month-end variances and provides explanations to the management group.Prepares and files sales tax returns on a timely basis.Prepares ad-hoc financial reports as requested.Researches, analyzes and exercises independent judgment in a variety of daily and non-routine decisions.Compiles year-end audit supporting documentation and acts as the primary contact for auditor questions during the year-end audit process.EducationBachelor\'s degree in accounting or business administrationCPA designation not required though considered an assetExperience3 – 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced environmentExperience implementing or using a Corporate Performance Management (CPM) system for financial reporting, budgeting and financial close processes (asset)Proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms, with the ability to adapt quickly to new systemsExperience working in the manufacturing or construction industrySkills / CompetenciesDetail oriented and organizedStrong MS Office/ 365 skillsStrong communication, problem solving and analytical skillsTeam player and collaborates well with othersAbility to meet assigned deadlinesHigh level of integrity.
