OverviewSunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto are recruiting a fellowship‑trained Vascular and Interventional Radiologist to join a team of four similarly trained physicians. The successful candidate will hold a full‑time clinical academic appointment at the academic rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto and will start on July 1, 2026.ResponsibilitiesPerform a broad range of vascular intervention procedures, with a strong emphasis on trauma and oncologic interventions, including embolization of pelvic and solid‑organ injuries, regional cancer therapies (thermal ablation, chemoembolization, bland embolization, radioembolization), and complex biliary and gastrointestinal interventions.Manage genitourinary procedures, venous and arterial thrombolysis, mechanical thrombectomy, dialysis access interventions, women’s and fertility‑related procedures, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, and venous access.Provide diagnostic responsibilities, including non‑neuro CTA and MRA, and post‑procedural follow‑up.Lead clinical service in a hybrid operating room with a single‑plane Philips Azurion system for combined surgical and interventional procedures, primarily for polytrauma patients requiring pelvic embolization.Occupy a hybrid clinical and research appointment with protected research time, engaging in translational and outcomes‑based research in image‑guided therapy, a strategic institutional priority at Sunnybrook.QualificationsMD or equivalent; Board‑certified or Board‑eligible in Diagnostic Imaging from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an equivalent international qualification; completed a minimum of two years of fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology; eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario; strong scholarly productivity and a robust research portfolio; advanced research training, ideally a PhD or equivalent, is strongly preferred.Benefits and CompensationAcademic rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
