RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage Service Department under the direction of the Production Manager or Sr. Technician
  • Supervise and direct show builds and dismantling, offer advisory support through site-visits, meetings & wrap-up
  • Operate equipment during shows
  • Consult with Operations & clients to determine event requirements and labor expectations
  • Learn basic Vectorworks "Spotlight" functions
  • Possess excellent organizational, leadership, communication & analytical skills
  • Able to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, attendees, speakers, venue staff & external cross rental companies through various channels
  • Develop and ensure adherence to service department procedures, timelines & budgets.
  • Track and report repair records, technical inventories & other paperwork

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2-3 years working as an Audio-Visual Technician
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Flexible availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Highly organized & detail oriented
  • Demonstrates high integrity
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Must be proficient with the following software:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, e-mail & calendar)
  • Flex
  • Adobe Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop
  • Vectorworks “Spotlight” 2013 (or newer)

If unfamiliar with any of the above programs, training can be provided.

JOB TYPES: FULL-TIME, 3 MONTH CONTRACT

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

EDUCATION:

  • Post secondary required
